Company:
Linde AG
Project Timeline:
Approx. 3 months from the initial consultation
Services:
Development of an augmented reality (AR) application to demonstrate the ADDvance® O2 precision control unit, including analysis, concept development, implementation, and deployment.
Summary:
Linde AG, a global leader in industrial gases, partnered with netTrek to develop an innovative augmented reality application. The app makes it possible to demonstrate how the ADDvance® O2 precision control unit works in real time in connection with a 3D printer. At trade shows and conferences in particular, Linde can now showcase its technology in an engaging and interactive way, allowing customers to explore the virtual connections and experience how the system works firsthand.
Challenge
The Challenge:
Linde AG wanted to make the complex technology behind the ADDvance® O2 precision control unit easier for customers to understand and needed an effective way to demonstrate the system at trade shows and conferences.
Goals and Requirements:
The goal of the project was to develop an interactive augmented reality application that could present the control unit in a virtual environment. The app needed to be intuitive to use while clearly visualizing the unit’s most important functions and connections.
Solution
Our Approach:
To meet these requirements, we used Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit v2.3.0. Development was carried out using Unity and Visual Studio, with C# as the programming language. Close collaboration with Linde throughout the project ensured that all technical requirements and expectations were met.
Key Features:
The key aspects of the development included:
- Realistic 3D visualization of the ADDvance® O2 precision control unit
- Interactive features that allow users to rotate and zoom in on the virtual unit
- Integration of explanatory text and graphics to make the technology easier to understand
- Ability to connect the virtual unit with real-world physical objects
Results
Project Results:
The AR application was successfully developed and implemented. It allows users to experience the ADDvance® O2 precision control unit in a virtual environment and explore its functions and connections in detail.
Benefits for the Client:
Linde now has an innovative demonstration tool that presents its technology in a modern and engaging way. The application has helped increase customer interest and understanding at trade shows and conferences while also providing more effective support for the sales process.
